The coming of 2024 means millions of people are going to create resolutions to improve their lives in one way or another. You don’t have to come up with new goals to have something to shoot for in the new year. Look over the past 365 days and think of goals you wanted to accomplish but didn’t get around to. Instead of beating yourself up, renew these goals and make them a priority. There are different ways to capitalize on bringing back the things you once wanted to do to improve your life.
Turn the missed goal into a “Lessons Learned”
One thing that can be learned from missing the mark is that sometimes the goals we set are too lofty. During the pursuit of the goal, we discover our capabilities, our limitations and our priorities. For instance, maybe your goal was to lose 50 pounds by the end of the year. It seemed like an attainable goal when first mentioned, but when you got down to the nitty gritty of making shopping lists, cutting vegetables for meal prep, bagging fruits and vegetables for smoothies, finding the time to go to the gym, so on and so forth, the goal wound up being more challenging than at first thought. The turning of the new year gives you opportunity to rewrite those missed goals and turn them into a goal that is more attainable and realistic for you and your individual circumstances.
Continue the journey of self-care
When you look back in time, I’m sure you can reflect on moments of regret when you didn’t take care of yourself like you should have. With this new knowledge, you can encourage yourself to take care of yourself in a proactive way. Maybe this year you will learn to say “no” to circumstances or people that bring negativity to your life. Maybe this year you will set your phone to “do not disturb” more often and unplug for a moment of deep breathing and relaxing. A great way to do this is sitting in a nice warm tub with one of our eight Bath Bomb scents enhancing your me-time. Whatever you do to take better care of yourself, know that you are worth it.
Let 2024 be the year that you accomplish those 2023 goals. It’s not too late. You can do it!
