April is National Autism Awareness Month

Edgar's Bath Goods productionEdgar’s Bath Goods and Goodwill North Central Texas celebrate April as National Autism Awareness month. We’re proud to provide learning and employment opportunities for individuals on the Autism spectrum.

Goodwill North Central Texas is home to the S.T.A.R.S. program, an acronym for skills training achieves results), where participants learn life skills in an interactive, realistic environment. Individuals from all walks of life and with varying disabilities attend the program, including people within the Autism spectrum. Edgar’s Bath Goods employs S.T.A.R.S. program participants, extending what they have learned in the program into a work environment equipped to help them succeed by providing tasks that are repetitive and measurable. They bring a can-do, positive attitude to work with them every day and encourage one another as they perform their tasks. They work hard, and the result of their hard work is a wonderful, luxurious bath bomb in eight great scents!

Autism spectrum disorder affects one out of every 270 individuals in the world, according to the World Health Organization, and is characterized by social, cognitive and communication challenges. Although these challenges may be present, we have found that our employees and participants can thrive and be productive contributors to our community, and society as a whole.

We want you to enjoy one or several of our bath bombs – doing so brings joy to the men and women who work with us at Edgar’s Bath Goods. Get yours today!
